Managing Director of eSAY Mobile, Dr Moneeb Awan is to speak at this year’s ‘Apps World Africa 2011’ event taking place at the Cape Town Convention Centre, South Africa on the 1st and 2ndJune 2011. Moneeb is the only UK-speaker at this inaugural industry event which forms part of the ‘Apps World 2011’ series – a number of exhibitions and workshops taking place globally across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America.
‘Apps World Africa 2011’ will explore the potential of applications to assist in the development of the globe’s second largest continent. Bringing together the telcos, handset manufacturers, government ministries and organisations, App developers, marketing houses and more, this event will explore whether APPs are the answer for Africa, and allow all the stakeholders to build pertinent partnerships in the industry and understand how APPS can underpin enterprise. Keynote speakers at the ‘Apps World Africa’ event include such big hitters as: Brett St Clair, Head of Mobile South Africa, Google; Deon Liebenberg, Managing Director Africa, Research in Motion and Kemi Benjamin, Brand Manager, Nike South Africa to name but a few.
Moneeb will speak on Day 2, at the session entitled ‘APPS FOR ENTERPRISE’ (Session 4). He will join an illustrious panel of speakers including Wilter du Toit, CEO, Virtual Mobile Technologies, Simon Barber, CTO, ThoughtFaqtor and Dusan Babich, CEO, Device Magic. The session will address key issues including: What are enterprise customers looking for from apps, challenges of developing apps for the enterprise market, standardised products vs. bespoke development – how much customisation is required for different clients, cross-platform and multi-handset development, how big could the market for enterprise apps become and finally the growing demand for tablet based apps – how do these differ from mobile apps?
Moneeb will talk about his experience of working in the enterprise arena and specifically how his business, eSAY Mobile that has recently launched the revolutionary enterprise APP WorkMobileTM to a furore of global activity that already includes more than 10,000 sign ups in over 25 countries.

Moneeb previously lived in Cape Town for three years and in his former career was Chief Scientist at the University of Cape Town’s Cape Heart Centre. He currently spends a significant amount of time in the city thanks to his existing business relationships there.
